The Institute of Balkan studies, whose aim iw the study of the history of the peoples living in the Balkan peninsula, gladly accepetd to publish the work of Mr. Adreades, dealing with the Moslem minority in Western Thrace. The author, as himself states, served for a long time aw an officer of the royal Gendarmerie in Western Thrace and gained an intimate knowledge of the Moslems and their life.
