Nestlé’s wish in publishing the book “2 Million Years of the Food Industry”, is to offer a reminder, in its 125th Anniversary year, that as a company, its activities first and foremost respond to a basic human need: food.

The authors have chosen to start their story of the food industry with the use of the first stone tools some two million years ago.

Past, present, future… The same questions arise: how to prepare and preserve raw materials produced on land and sea, and how to transform these into food products.
