An archaeological investigation on the island of Thera was planned many years ago by the writer as it was fairly certain that at several places throughout Thera and Therasia considerable ruins were hidden. The question has seemed to ripen during recent years. Indeed, archaeological discoveries like that of the Palace at Zakro and new scientific papers like that of Dr. Ninkovich and Dr. Heezen have contributed additional evidence for the “Volcanic Destruction” theory.
